PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA (AP) — Tiger Woods finished second at the PNC Championship in December, playing alongside his son, Charlie.
Woods will team up with his other child, daughter Sam, on Wednesday.
Woods has chosen his daughter to give him an introduction at his induction into the World Golf Hall of Fame, which will take place at PGA Tour headquarters in the shadows of TPC Sawgrass, the Tour’s premier event, beginning at 7 p.m. ET on Wednesday.
Former PGA Tour commissioner Tim Finchem, who will be introduced by Hall of Fame member Davis Love III, and three-time U.S. Women’s Open champion Susie Maxwell Berning, who will be introduced by Hall of Fame member Judy Rankin, will both be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Marion Hollins, a trailblazer, will also be inducted posthumously.
Sam, 14, was born the day after Woods tied for second place at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania in the 2007 US Open. Later that year, she was at Southern Hills in Oklahoma when Woods won the PGA Championship.
For the second time, Woods, who has a record-tying 82 PGA Tour victories and 15 major championships, competed alongside Charlie, 13, at the PNC Championship. It was the first time Woods had competed in a tournament since his near-fatal car accident in the Los Angeles region in February.
Woods’ injuries from the accident are still bothering him.
