Tom Hoge has been flirting with a PGA Tour victory since November, but he finally got his appointment with professional golf destiny on Sunday at Pebble Beach.
Hoge snuck straight in as Jordan Spieth opened the door late in the final round of the 2022 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am with a bogey on the 17th. The 32-year-old won his first Tour event with a final-round 4-under 68, boosted by four birdies over his final eight holes.
Hoge was either finishing in the top five or not making the weekend heading into the week. Following a T-4 finish at the RSM Classic in November, Hoge missed the cut at the Sony Open last month, but bounced back to finish runner-up at the American Express. He followed his tendency by missing the cut at the Farmers Insurance Open last week before finishing in the top five at Pebble Beach this week, his third top five in his previous five Tour appearances.
