Last month, the PGA Tour informed participants that the payout for The Players Championship had been raised to $20 million. According to a message delivered to players on Monday, monetary rises will continue.
In 2022, total revenues will be $838 million, with $427 million in official prize money. The FedExCup incentive is now $75 million, and the Comcast Business Tour Top 10 is now $20 million.
The average prize will rise to $9.1 million per tournament (up from $8 million), with total rewards of $15 million at the first two playoff events, the FedEx St. Jude Championship and the BMW Championship (up $5.5 million). The FedExCup award for the Tour Championship will also increase, with $18 million (up from $15 million) going to the winner at East Lake.
The memo also revealed purse increases of roughly $3 million at the Tour’s three “player-hosted” events โ the Genesis Invitational, Arnold Palmer Invitational, and Memorial Tournament โ to $12 million.
