Playing well on the PGA Tour pays off, folks. Scottie Scheffler, this week’s winner, can attest to that.
After a three-hole playoff with Ryder Cup teammate and six-time champion Patrick Cantlay, the 25-year-old Texan won his first PGA Tour event in dramatic manner on Sunday at the 2022 WM Phoenix Open. Scheffler blasted a birdie putt to get up-and-down from a fairway bunker on the 18th hole at TPC Scottsdale for the fourth time that day to win the top prize of $1,476,000. Cantlay took home $893,800.
