CALIFORNIA’S PACIFIC PALISADES — On Thursday evening, Wyndham Clark was disqualified following his opening round at the 2022 Genesis Invitational.
According to the PGA Tour, Clark was disqualified for signing an inaccurate scorecard after shooting a 6-over 77.
Clark arrived at Riviera Country Club after missing the cut at the WM Phoenix Open on Friday. So far this season, he’s only missed one previous cut, at the Sanderson Farms Championship in October. His best finish to date is a solitary 13th place at the American Express last month.
Clark’s opening round opponents were Brendan Steele and Brandon Hagy. With an 8-under 63 on Thursday, Joaquin Niemann tied for the lowest opening round in event history and took the lead.
