In May, a large number of the world’s best male junior golfers – 72 in total – will travel to Florida to start off the AJGA’s summer season of competitions in 2022.
The Team TaylorMade Invitational, a 54-hole tournament set for May 27-30 at Jupiter Hills Club in Tequesta, Florida, is the first event on the schedule. The club has previously hosted the US Amateur in 1987 and the US Amateur Four-Ball in 2018.
“Jupiter Hills is thrilled to host the Team TaylorMade Invitational in 2022 because it demonstrates our dedication to amateur golf and major golf tournaments,” Jupiter Hills Club president Robert Hofmann said in a statement to the media. “We are thrilled to work with the AJGA and TaylorMade to give these talented young golfers the opportunity to enjoy our world-class facilities.” We expect our Hills Course to be a significant challenge for them. Furthermore, our members are ready to form new strong bonds within this fantastic game.”
The Hills Course (1970) and the Village Course (1979) at Jupiter Hills were designed by George and his nephew, Tom Fazio. As part of the club’s 50th anniversary celebrations, Tom’s son, Logan, revived the Village Course in 2017 and the Hills Course in 2020 with his father. The Hills Course is ranked No. 5 on Golfweek’s list of the best private golf courses in Florida for 2021.
“We’re ecstatic to bring this outstanding junior golf event to Jupiter Hills Club,” AJGA Executive Director Stephen Hamblin stated in a statement to the media. “In just its second year, the connection we have with TaylorMade and Jupiter Hills is going to elevate this tournament to a new level, and we can’t wait to help promote junior golf at such a renowned venue.”
