Scottie Scheffler wins approximately $1.5 million at the WM Phoenix Open.

Scottie Scheffler has 17 top-20 results in 70 PGA Tour outings, including two runner-up finishes, before winning his first tournament on Sunday at the WM Phoenix Open.

At TPC Scottsdale, Scheffler defeated Patrick Cantlay in a three-hole playoff to win the trophy and approximately $1.5 million first-place money.

Scheffler had a chance to win the tournament in regulation, but he bogeyed the 72nd hole with a 5-footer for birdie.

On the third extra hole, he made a 25-footer to redeem himself.
