On March 19, Oklahoma State successfully defended their championship in the N.I.T. at OMNI Tucson National’s Catalina Course in Tucson, Arizona. The Cowboys swept away the field, going a remarkable 53 under par over 54 holes and finished 21 strokes clear of runner-up Texas.
Oklahoma State’s win was their second of the spring and their third of the season.
Eugenio Chacarra, a regular name for the Cowboys, finished at the top of the scoreboard once again, leading the club to victory. With a closing 64, the senior assisted his team in pulling away in the final round, and his 20-under total earned him medalist honors for the second time this spring.
Aman Gupta, a teammate, finished third, and two other Cowboys placed in the top 16.
