Thorbjorn Olesen finished his round with an eagle-birdie for the second day in a row. This time, however, he needed to win for the first time in four years.
On Sunday at the Betfred British Masters, Olesen bogeyed five of his first 15 holes, appearing to have blown his chance to win after leading by three strokes at the start of the final round.
However, the Dane, who last won on the DP World Tour at the 2018 Italian Open, made a 30-foot eagle putt on the par-3 17th hole to tie clubhouse leader Sebastian Soderberg at 9 under.
Olesen then sank a 36-footer for birdie on the par-4 18th hole to end with a 1-over 73 and a one-shot victory.
“I just kept going and yep, what a finish,” said Olesen.
