Stacy Lewis hasn’t squandered any time in assembling her support team.
Lewis said Morgan Pressel would be one of her assistants in Spain six weeks after being elected the 2023 U.S. Solheim Cup captain.
Pressel, a six-time Solheim Cup winner, has lately worked as a Golf Channel broadcaster.
“When it came to assistant captains, I knew I wanted guys who were passionate about the Solheim Cup. “Morgan was at the top of my list right away,” Lewis said in a statement. “Her enthusiasm for the Solheim Cup and competitive spirit will be invaluable to Team USA.”
I’ve known her as a competitor and a friend for a long time, and I’m excited to have her join me as we begin the new year by establishing a wonderful team.”
“We’ve been on many teams together,” Pressel said, “and now to support her and Team USA in Spain as an assistant captain will be a fantastic milestone in my career.” Pressel has been a member of six winning US Solheim Cup teams.
Pressel’s analyst work will benefit the Americans, according to Lewis, because she will be “on the road with the tour, watching week in and week out but with a slightly different eye than as a player.” Her research and preparation will be extremely beneficial to our team’s development.”
The 2023 Solheim Cup will be held at Finca Cortesin in Spain from September 22 to 24.
The European team will be led by Suzann Pettersen.
