Lydia Ko finished two strokes behind winner Marina Alex at the Palos Verdes Championship on Sunday, but she received a standing ovation from those who watched her post-round interview.
When Ko was seen getting her back treated on by her physiotherapist during the final round, Golf Channel’s Jerry Foltz naturally asked her about it.
Foltz was stunned flabbergasted by Ko’s remark.
When asked if her back was an issue, Ko replied, “I hope not.” “It’s that time of month again.” I’m sure the girls in the audience are thinking, “Yeah, I got you.” As a result, my back becomes really tense, and I get twisted. It wasn’t the first time Chris had seen me twisted, but I felt much better once he arrived. So, there you have it.”

To no one’s surprise, Foltz had no follow-up question and just said, “Thank you.”
“I know you’re at a loss for words, Jerry,” Ko said, now laughing. It’s all about honesty.”
The reaction on social media was equally positive. The finest tweet could have come from Grant Boone of Golf Channel, who remarked, “If only @JerryFoltzGC had thrown it to 12, it would have been perfect. After toppling over with laughing, Jerry may need to be stretched out by the physio.”
