PONTE VEDRA BEACH, FLORIDA (AP) — Kevin Na withdrew from The Players Championship to be with his wife, Jullianne, for the birth of their third child, which took place this week.
Na explained why he would be missing the PGA Tour’s most prestigious event on Twitter, and he was replaced in the field by Taylor Moore.
Moore was originally named in the Players field last Friday, but was moved to the alternate list after Henrik Stenson was added to the field. Patrick Rodgers has been promoted to the position of first alternate.
Na, who missed the Arnold Palmer Invitational cut last week, has 14 starts at The Players and three top-10 results, including a tie for third in 2009.
