Tim Rosaforte, one of the game’s great voices, died of Alzheimer’s Disease on January 11th. His death left a lasting impression on the golf world, and his absence has been felt by all.
The participants at the Honda Classic at PGA National are wearing purple ribbons with the word “Rosie” emblazoned across them this week.
The second Tim Rosaforte Distinguished Writers’ Award, named after the great journalist, was presented to Rosaforte’s long-time friend Larry Dorman earlier this week.
“It’s a huge honor for me.” Tim would be overjoyed, I’m sure. We’d have cracked a few jokes about it. The prize is “definitely pretty high on my list of awards that I have received,” Dorman added.
Here are some photographs of the PGA National ribbons.
