Los Angeles will host back-to-back LPGA events for the first time in circuit history. Fans will be able to purchase a “LA LPGA Dual Ticket,” a weekly grounds pass for both events, to make it easier to follow. The JTBC LA Open kicks off the fortnight on April 21-24 at Wilshire Country Club, where it will be held for the fourth time. This is the first time supporters have been allowed on the premises since 2019.
The new JTBC Championship at Palos Verdes takes place the following week, April 28-May 1, at Palos Verdes Golf Club, which has hosted the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge collegiate event for the past 25 years and has produced past individual winners Lorena Ochoa, Carlota Ciganda, Natalie Gulbis, Brittany Lang, Bronte Law, Andrea Lee, Leona Maguire, and Annie Park. The event will be the club’s first-ever professional event.
Both 72-hole tournaments will feature 144 competitors and $1.5 million in prize money.
Without any spectators, Brooke Henderson won the JTBC LA Open last year for the tenth time on the tour. Due to the pandemic, the 2020 event has been canceled.
All military (current, retired, reserve, and veteran), fire, police, and EMS workers, as well as their immediate family members, will receive complimentary tickets to both tournaments (up to four tickets). With a paid adult, children under the age of 17 will be admitted for free.
