The Sentry Tournament of Champions is the first event on the PGA Tour’s itinerary for 2022. The annual winners-only event in Maui features 38 Tour season champions from the previous year. Rory McIlroy, who elected not to play, and Cameron Champ, who is unable to compete due to a positive COVID-19 test, were the only players who did not play.
Nonetheless, it’s a deep field, featuring world No. 1 Jon Rahm, all four major winners from 2021—Hideki Matsuyama, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, and Collin Morikawa—as well as Xander Schauffele, the Tokyo Olympics gold medalist.
The Plantation Course at Kapalua is always a sight to behold, with views that stretch for miles for both golfers and onlookers. And it seems like there’s something fresh every time these guys tee it up.
