The Sentry Tournament of Champions is the first event on the PGA Tour’s itinerary for 2022. The annual winners-only event in Maui features 38 Tour season champions from the previous year. Rory McIlroy, who elected not to play, and Cameron Champ, who is unable to compete due to a positive COVID-19 test, were the only players who did not play.
Nonetheless, it’s a deep field, featuring world No. 1 Jon Rahm, all four major winners from 2021—Hideki Matsuyama, Phil Mickelson, Jon Rahm, and Collin Morikawa—as well as Xander Schauffele, the Tokyo Olympics gold medalist.
