Bryson DeChambeau is still recovering from wrist surgery after just over two weeks.
Following surgery on April 14 to repair a fractured hamate bone in his left wrist, DeChambeau stated Friday night that he is no longer in his cast and is beginning to grasp a golf club.
“I can’t hold on to it for long,” DeChambeau said, adding that he planned to return “within two months” two weeks ago.

In February, DeChambeau was injured while playing ping-pong at the Saudi International. He pulled out of the tournament after the first round and didn’t play again until the WGC-Dell Match Play in late March. He didn’t make it out of pool play in Austin, and he gritted it out at the Masters, missing the cut, before opting for surgery.
“I tried to play with this issue at three recent events, including the Masters,” DeChambeau said. “However, this is normally a condition that requires surgical treatment.” “Continued agony from the fracture has prompted me to change my grip and swing, preventing me from competing at the highest level of golf.” Physically and mentally, this has not been easy for me.”
