On Friday, the DP World Tour announced the addition of two tournaments in Spain to its schedule for 2022. The ISPS Handa Championship will be held at Infinitum in Tarragona from April 21 to 24. From April 28 to May 1, the Catalunya Championship will be held at PGA Catalunya Golf and Wellness in Girona.
The Spanish competitions will take the place of two previously scheduled tournaments. Because to the pandemic’s travel limitations, the ISPS Handa Championship in Japan will be a Japan Golf Tour event only. In 2023, the DP World Tour will co-sanction it.
The Volvo China Open has been delayed to an undetermined later date, according to the tour’s announcement last week.
Between the Masters and the PGA Championship, both Spanish events will feature a prize of $2 million and will be part of a four-event stretch on European soil.
On Friday, it was also confirmed that the rescheduled Commercial Bank Qatar Masters will be held March 24-27 at Doha Golf Club.
