Last summer, when Xander Schauffele won the gold medal at the Olympics, his caddy, Austin Kaiser, left Tokyo without a medal. Schauffele, on the other hand, made sure Kaiser had something to show for his contribution to their victory.
Kaiser, who has been on Schauffele’s bag for his entire PGA Tour career, shared on Instagram that the Schauffele family gave him a custom-made Olympic ring since despite being with Schauffele for every step of his gold medal performance, Kaiser did not receive a medal from Japan.

In the Schauffele family, the Olympics have a special value. Xander’s father, Stefan, was a German track and field champion in 1935 before being sidelined by a shoulder injury two weeks before the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, and Xander’s grandfather, Richard, was a German track and field champion in 1935 before being sidelined by a shoulder injury two weeks before the 1936 Olympics in Berlin.
Now that the Schauffele family has an Olympic medal to their name, they made sure Kaiser had one as well for his contribution to Xander’s victory.
