After all, big-hitting Bryson DeChambeau isn’t going to take on Waialae Country Club.
According to DeChambeau’s agent, Brett Falkoff, DeChambeau withdrew from the Sony Open on Monday due to wrist pain.
DeChambeau’s wrist had flared up in recent weeks, according to Falkoff, and he wasn’t ready for consecutive starts as he’d anticipated. When his name surfaced on the final field list last Friday, it was a complete surprise.
In the last three months, DeChambeau has only competed in one official event, the Hero World Challenge in early December. He tied for 25th in the 38-man Sentry Tournament of Champions in his first start of the new year.
He is unlikely to compete again until the Saudi International on February 3-6, after withdrawing from the Sony.
